Laviàntica Rome, Italy
Laviàntica is a band from Rome, Italy, in action since the early 90s. In 2013 the first official CD, "Clessidra", was released. In 2016 a new entry, Daniele Sorrenti, joined the band for flute and minimoog parts, while in 2017 Roberto Rossi completed the current line-up, replacing Andrea Schiappelli on drums. A very pleasant album. Like other comments said, if you like the first Camel album (Moonmadness for exemple), you have to listen at this one. calm, relaxing are the first words that come to me You can listen from the start to the end: it’s like a journey…. in the space!

Good modern prog albums are a rare beast in my eyes so this was a nice discovery. This album is very layered yet crisp sounding. Not exactly heavy but delightfully dense. Among other things the vocals are not someone's Dad doing their worst Roger Waters impression but are actually, quite good and give the music its own identity. I especially like the performance on Suli's rise. The songs flow really well and there's a lot of extremely ambitious playing. Also bonus points for church organ.

When you like your prog to be more beautiful and/or accessible than prog-proggy, than this is for you! Melodic as hell and yes, Peter Falconer is quite a singer! That wouldn't go half the way without the solid songs of Pat Sanders. A great combination of skills ;-)
